In The Beginning
Once, many centuries ago, there was Void. Then, out of the darkness, two sisters were born. These sisters quickly grew discontent with their empty surroundings. They began to dream...
The things they dreamt surrounded The Void, and they became what is now known as Reality. These dreams that formed into life consisted of Grass and Trees, of running freely through plains full of flowers. None of these had existed before, and how the Sisters could imagine such grand design when all they had known was empty space is unknown. What is known, however, is that these dreams manifested into reality, and they were not always good.
Nightmares also chased these young Goddesses minds. A land of fire and death where they felt weak and were prey to all monsters. This too became a reality, an all-to-real nightmare that continues to exist.
The Girls sat on their Void island. They had created everything out of nothing, and they had no idea what to do with it. They watched, for a time. The sheep grazed, the squid swam, and the...what are they? It was not long before they noticed a being similar in behavior to themselves. This creature had a longer nose and a larger head then the Sisters, but it was clearly sentient. The Goddesses then watched as these Villagers built homes and facilities out of the earth that had been only recently formed.
Even though reality has been created, the Girls did not stop dreaming. They slept at night as the other creatures did. They did not need too, but they assumed it was the proper thing to do since everything else did it. And as they slept, more dreams manifested. Formed out of a mix of the Goddesses memories of watching the Villagers, and the general appearance of the Girls themselves, the first Humans formed out of nothing and into something.
These Humans followed the example of the Villagers, for a time. But it was soon clear that these new beings had an instinct for violence. Like a pack of wolves searching for superior hunting grounds, the Humans expanded and covered the Overworld. And as they grew they inevitably stumbled into conflict with one-another, as well as the Villagers. The Goddesses watched in horror as the Humans forged blades out of the Iron in the soil in order to slice open the veins of living things. War over the pettiest things occurred, and for the Villagers it was not even a conflict, but a slaughter.
More inclined toward Peace, the Villagers did not know how to defend themselves, and they quickly fell under the brutal rule of many Human Kingdoms. The now dubbed "Testificates" (As they were viewed upon as "Test Versions" of Humans) lived lives of hardship and abuse under most Kingly rule.
The Sisters did not know what to do, they had not once shown themselves to anything in their perfect creation and were dreadfully frightened to do so. However, they concluded they must restore the Peace as was their original intention. With heavenly light and glorious music, the Goddesses made their dramatic entrance into The Land Of Terram for the first time. All creatures were awestruck and quickly displayed their servitude to these all-powerful deities.
Thus, a fragile peace was was forged and the land was calm for the most part. It wasn't until one man, those name was Alvin Vince, longed so much to obtain the power these Sisters had, that he begged and pleaded endlessly for weeks on end without eating. This saddened one of the Girls, and she bestowed upon him a Staff that could be used to restore the dead to life, and this gave him the power he so desperately desired. Man, however, is rarely satisfied. And upon realizing the Staff possessed power that the Sisters could not directly control, he started to use it for personal gain. It started with resurrecting individuals and then pledging them to his service, however he quickly realized it would be much easier to simply created mindless undead minions to aid him in his endeavors.
He raised countless undead corpses, and tainted the Overworld so greatly that the Undead continued to rise each night, regardless of whether or not the Staff was being used. The Sisters were terrified, and quickly did their best to shelter the settlements of their followers. Fearing Divine Retribution, Alvin Vince fled to The Nether, where he eventually grew to become the true ruler of the Realm. After that, the first necromancer settled upon a new name: The Prince Of Death.
Despite the reoccuring undead threat, a relative peace was maintained for many decades. The Sisters now had a far more direct role in the lives of those who dwelt in Terram, and were widely worshiped. One day, the Sisters sensed something strange. It wasn't quite clear what happened at first, but eventually it was understood. A Mortal had risen to the status of a God. The Girls did not know how this had happened, only that it did. And they became increasingly nervous at the thought of what this could bring.
